The event was held at magna, with 3 shows during the day attended by around 200 people per show. The venue was great and had excellent viewing for the audience, the sound system and music to accompany the battles was an added extra. EWE2 had 7 battles and performed pretty well in all of them, which resulted in Scott getting the David Gribble Award for the best heavyweight driver of the day. Our first battles was against BIG NIPPER which unfortunately we lost...No disgrace though as this is an excellent machine that is performing well at all events. They recently won the Belgium Event, and won overall at this event. Our second battle was against LEVELLER 2 and GMAN. We managed to flip them both quite a few times. Both competitors had trouble self righting. We won the fight by dumping both robots in the pit. Next was THE MIGHTY THOR. A good test for the only two robots with Roboteq speedos at the event. We managed to get under THOR fairly easily and only took one small whack to the front of our machine. After flipping them a couple of times we got under them while they were upside down and shoved them in the pit. MERLIN and MIGHTY MOUSE were next. We got on top of the fight in the early stages and got a few flips in on MERLIN throwing them nicely across the arena. MERLIN got one good flip on us, but we sremeched ok. Then we decided to go for a trip around the pit and unfortunately got caught on the edge where a strip of flooring was removed. MERLIN quickly came round and deposited us in the pit. MERLIN won the fight. MUTE and RIPPER were our next opponents. RIPPER spectacularly flipped MUTE who's sremeching was awesome. RIPPER died early in the fight which left us and MUTE to fight it out. We managed to flip MUTE a few times and they returned the compliment. There was some great driving and tactics in the fight. Mute deservedly won it on a judges decision. A very short fight next which saw MIGHTY MOUSE disappear down the pit and RIPPER failing to sremech after we flipped them. All this in the first 30 seconds. EWE2 also stopped dead after flipping RIPPER. We later found out that one of our Hawker batteries had failed. The last fight was the grand finale involving all of the robots mentioned above plus WIP, and two featherweights KITTY and DIZZY TILLY. I'm not sure who won, it was total chaos. In the middle of it all we took two massive whacks from THOR which smashed our polycarb, split welds in the ali shell, and bent our steel frame! WE still kept on going until diving in the pit on top of KITTY with another 4 heavyweights. KITTY came out unharmed. Click on the links below to see video of the event
